Well, in Robert Bringhurst's classic text The Elements of Typographic Style, we have some wonderful insights into how the conscious or unconscious impact of a well designed book is brought about. Robert Bringhurst – The Elements of Typographic Style. If you're a least a tiny bit interested in typography this should be on your shelf already. Managed to find a copy of it online! What on earth were you thinking? It is apparently great in helping people get to grip with the basics of typography. Examine this statement: "Typography on the web sucks!", true or false? The Elements of Typographic Style Applied to the Web. I was just reccomeneded this book. For me this book is a masterpiece on typography and one of the few I'm really happy to own as a printed edition. For other types of books, it's only worse. Renowned typographer and poet Robert Bringhurst brings clarity to the art of typography with this masterful style guide. For a book with the style and grace of The Elements of Typographic Style, the “version 3.1” on the cover is almost pornographically out of place. To all the type guys and girls out there, we love our typography.
